Becoming Human?

What does it mean to be human? Are we just biological machines or is there something more to us?  Do human beings have innate dignity and value? It so, where does it come from?  How does our understanding of personhood affect how we act towards others?

We will be exploring these and similar questions with the help of respected thinkers from various academic disciplines, including literature, philosophy, medicine, bioethics and artificial intelligence.

Whilst the organisers and most of our speakers come from a Christian perspective, we believe that people of all viewpoints benefit from respectful engagement with each other concerning these big questions.  All are welcome to come, listen, question and discuss.
